The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Route
There are 40 miles of scenic Welsh Narrow Gauge Railways in this “Train Sim Classic” route!
The Ffestiniog Railway is the world’s oldest narrow gauge railway with almost 200 years of history, running 13½-miles from the harbour in Porthmadog to the slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The climb is over 700 feet from sea level into the mountains, past lakes and waterfalls, round tight bends (even a complete spiral) clinging to the side of the mountain or tunnelling through it.
The Welsh Highland Railway is the UK’s longest heritage railway and runs for 25 miles from Caernarfon, past the foot of Snowdon and the picture postcard village of Beddgelert, then through the stunning Aberglaslyn Pass and on to Porthmadog.
Custom built assets and rolling stock combine to give a realistic “look and feel” of these iconic narrow gauge railway routes.

Pre-Requisites for the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Route
(1) You must have obtained and install a copy of the Train Simulator product (currently version TS2021). A search of the web should give you the site or try the link below.
(2) Because the original route was developed as a personal project, the original route Author used many assets from a range of third party content.
These have been minimised as much as possible but you may need to purchase and download additional Download Content (DLC) products to maximise the visual effects of this route.
They can be purchased and downloaded from the Steam Store
The advice is to install the route as is and then decide if the missing assets are essential for your own purposes. The route will install and run without these additional components but the visual appearance will be limited.

Note: You may already have the Kuju – EU Asset Pack if you bought an early version of the Train Sim product. (Railworks or TS2012).
Unfortunately, it stopped being included as a standard game pack a few years ago!!
